Accounting and Treasury Division
The Accounting and Treasury Division maintains accounting records, including
accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. The Treasurer is also
responsible for the Cash Management Program. To increase the rate of return on
investments, the Town used the State Treasurer's Short Term Investment Fund
(STIF) and the Cooperative Liquid Assets Securities System (CLASS). These funds
offer a significantly higher interest rate than those of Certificate of Deposits
because they are pooled funds with other governmental agencies.
