Summer Day Camps

Groton Parks and Recreation Summer Camp

Summer Day Camp  
Campers ages 4-12 participate in groups by age in activities that include sports, arts & crafts, outdoor games, literacy, drama, music, dress up days, beach trips, water activities, special events, and within a caring and safe environment!  Camps run 8am - 3pm and are open to residents and non-residents. 

Top register, select one of three sites:
SB Butler School, Claude Chester School,  or William Seely SchoolThe Wiliam Seely site opens at 7:30 am and it also has extended day camp available from 3pm - 5pm. The Claude Chester site is the only site available for 4-5 year-olds.

Camp Trips
Most Camp field trips have an additional fee (but beach trips are free!) in addition to the price of camp and campers must be registered for the appropriate week and site of summer camp to register for camp trips. Remember to apply sunscreen at home and pack spray sunscreen, lunch, snack, and beverage if needed. For beach or water-related trips, include a swim suit, towel and change of clothes. Remember to label all of your child's possessions.

Multi-child Discount
The discount is for families with more than one child in day camps.  Income limits apply, but they are more generous than our normal scholarship limits!  Call 860-536-5680 for details on eligibilty. 

Day Camp for Kids with Special Needs
Camp Button is a physically, socially, and emotionally safe recreation environment for children ages 4-12 who require a more controlled camp setting (typically child is in a self-contained classroom).  All campers are evaluated for appropriate placement into Camp Button. Camp runs noon-3pm at Northeast Academy and is open to residents only. 

Inclusion Packet
In order to request any special assistance due to a child's special needs, please fill out our Inclusion Information Packet. The packet contains all of information we need to give your child the best summer camp experience we can!

Registration Deadline
The deadline to register for each week is one week prior to the start of each week provided the camp is not already full!  You have until Wednesday at midnight to register for the following week's camp.

Late Pick-up Fee
Consistent late pick-ups without significant communication may lead to dismissal from the program.  Fees must be paid before the child is eligible to attend the next day of camp!  Fee may be paid on-line or at the Groton Parks and Recreation Office.


$10 1-10 minutes late
$15 11-15 minutes late
$20 16-20 minutes late
$30 21+ minutes late

Refunds
Requests for refunds must be made 2 weeks prior to the start of any camp session.   A $15 administrative fee is charged for all money returned.

Unfortunately, transferring from one site to another after registering is not possible.
