Covid-19 Update

All parks trails and open spaces are open, but some facilities within those parks are closed or are open with restrictions.  Note that additional executive orders from the Governor related to physical distance, masks and other preventive measures are in place and must be followed.  Visit for more information.

Groton Community Center

  • Limited programming is available. Visit for a list of current programs available.
  • All people entering the Groton Community Center must self-certify that they are in good health and exhibit no symptoms common for Covid-19.
  • Those entering may not have travelled from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents, or higher than a 10% test positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average in the last 14 days. The list of states is listed at  Those who have returned from  state on the list may enter if they have a negative test upon their return to CT.

Parents / non-participants

  • Parents are counted as participants in some programs for pre-school age children (Lil Tigers Karate, Preschool Social).

  • Parents are allowed inside the facility only for drop-off of children under the age of 10. Please contact us if you need special consideration to enter the facility with a participant.

  • There is no indoor waiting. Please contact us ahead of time if you have a need to wait inside the facility.

  • Once a participant is dropped off, parents should leave the building until the program is over. Please arrive as close as possible to beginning and ending times for programs to prevent waiting.

Facemasks must be used at all times, except when actively involved in a physical activity that increases heart rate and respiration, or when age or health prevents it. The state of CT generally requires masks for any child over the age of 3. For those prevented from wearing a mask, proper distancing of 6-12 feet must be maintained, depending on activity.

Those in the building must practice good hygiene including hand-washing.

Please use only refillable personal water bottles. There are no drinking fountains available in the facility.

Other Actions

The Groton Community Center is taking additional steps to help prevent the possible spread of the Coronavirus.

  • Additional time in between programs.

  • Limited capacities in programs to allow for proper social distancing.

  • Increased signage in the facility.

  • Removal of non-essential furniture and equipment.

  • Parking lot signage to enable easy drop off and pick-up.
