Nothing says art like the world famous Mystic Outdoor Art Festival, held annually in August in historic Mystic. The Mystic Arts Center is another regional icon in the art world. Located on the Mystic River, the Mystic Art Center provides gallery exhibitions, studio art classes, educational outreach and cultural programming for all tastes. The Alexey von Schlippe Gallery of Art is located on the Avery Point campus of the University of Connecticut. The Gallery is open to the public and provides arts activities, such as lectures, films, concerts, and poetry readings and is an important cultural resource for the community.
