ELECTION INFORMATION
APRIL 24, 2012 Presidential Preference Primary
Polling places are open from 6am to 8pm.
You must be a registered Republican to vote in this primary. Mail in registration must be received by the Registrar of Voters by April 19th, 2012. You may register in person until 12:00pm, noon, on Monday, April 23rd. For residents that newly received their privilege to vote by reaching the age of 18, becoming a U.S. citizen, or moved to Groton after April 17th, they may register in person by 5:00pm Monday, April 23rd. The Voter Registration office is located at 2 Fort Hill Road in the Human Services Building. For additional information, please contact the Registrar of Voters at 860-441-6650.
This Primary is to select a Republican Candidate for the Presidential election on November 6, 2012.
If you are unable to vote in person on Election Day, request an ABSENTEE BALLOT from the TOWN CLERK. Absentee Ballots are available April 3, 2012. To receive the absentee ballot, an APPLICATION must be filed. The application is available by calling 860-441-6640 or visiting the Town Clerk's office. You may also print out an application from the website of the Secretary of the State.
