Polls open 6:00am - 8:00pm

Polling places are as follows:

District 1 – Groton Public Library, 52 Newtown Road Groton
District 2 – West Side Middle School, 250 Brandegee Avenue Groton
District 3 – Groton City Municipal Building, 295 Meridian Street Groton
District 4 – Mary Morrison Elementary School, 154 Tollgate Road Groton
District 5 – School Administration Building, 1300 Flanders Road Mystic
District 6 – S.B. Butler School, 155 Ocean View Avenue Mystic
District 7 – Fitch High School, 101 Groton Long Point Road Groton

Eligibility to Vote:

- Will be 18 years of age as of November 6, 2018
- U.S. Citizen
- Resident of Groton, CT
- Have not been convicted of a disenfranchising felony, or if so, your voting rights have been restored

The last day to REGISTER TO VOTE by mail, at DMV, or online, applications must be received by the Registrar by August 13, 2018. The last day to REGISTER TO VOTE in person is August 13, 2018. Absentee Ballots are available beginning July 24, 2018. In order to be eligible to vote by Absentee Balloting, the elector must expect to be unable to appear at the polling place during the hours of voting for one of the following reasons:

- Your active service in the Armed Forces of the United States
- Your absence from the town during all of the hours of voting
- Your illness
- Your religious tenets forbid secular activity on the day of the election or referendum
- Your duties as an election or referendum official at a polling place other than your own during all the hours of voting
- Your physical disability

If you determine that you are unable to vote in person on Election Day, you may request an Absentee Ballot from the Town Clerk's Office. To receive an Absentee Ballot, an APPLICATION must be filed with the Town Clerk's Office. You may request an application to be mailed to you by calling the Town Clerk's Office at 860-441-6640 or you may complete an application in person at the Town Clerk's office. You may also print an application from the Secretary of the State website: You can then either mail the application to the Town Clerk's office, 45 Fort Hill Road, Groton, CT 06340, email at, or present the application in person. The Town Clerk's office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am until 4:30 pm.
