One Book One Region Kickoff
The kickoff to the 20th Annual One Book One Region read will be held at UCONN Avery Point's Branford House on Tuesday, June 28th with a reception at 5 PM and an official program from 6 to 7 PM.
This year’s selection is Being Heumann: An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability by Judith Heumann. One of the most influential disability rights activists in US history tells her personal story of fighting for the right to receive an education, have a job, and just be human. Copies of the book will be available at the library. The finale and author event is planned for Thursday, October 22 at CT College.
One Book, One Region is a collaboration between the libraries of Eastern Connecticut and Connecticut College. The purpose of this initiative is to bring community members together to discuss ideas, broaden appreciation of reading and break down barriers between people.
