SHENNECOSSETT GOLF COURSE TOURNAMENT POLICY

Please read ALL details below before submitting a Tournament Application.

REGISTRATION

All Tournament Directors must complete a signed copy of the “Tournament application” before any date is scheduled and reserved.
SIZE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 60 players is required to be considered a tournament. A maximum of 128 players is allowed for any event.

AVAILABLE DAYS
Tournaments will be scheduled by the Head Golf Professional, as the schedule permits.  The Tournament Director should check a specific day’s availability prior to submitting the Tournament Contract.
STARTING METHOD
Tournaments may be started by shotgun, or by tee-times.  A modified shotgun start may also be approved.  Any starting method must be approved by the Head Golf Professional.
CONFIRMATION

  • One week prior to the event, the Director must confirm the exact number of players.
  • The Director will be obligated to pay for this confirmed number of players.

PAYMENT

  • All fees must be paid by the day of the event at the Shennecossett pro-shop. Checks should be made payable to “Town of Groton."  Visa and Mastercard are also accepted.
  • A list of foursomes must be provided to the pro-shop by the day of the event.
  • If a shotgun start is used, the pro-shop will assign the groups to their starting hole.
  • Rain dates are not scheduled.
  • If the pro is to run and score the event, a $125 fee must be paid separately to the golf professional.

DRESS CODE

  • Players must wear appropriate golf attire.
  • Collared shirts are required. Cut-off pants are not permitted.
  • Shoes with metal spikes are prohibited.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

  • The Par Four restaurant has an exclusive contract with food and beverage at Shennecossett. No group or individual shall distribute alcoholic beverages or food on the premises of the golf course, or adjoining Town property without the approval of the Restaurant and the Golf Professional.
  • NO COOLERS ARE PERMITTED ON THE GOLF COURSE PREMISES.

CONDUCT

  • All golfers are expected to use proper golf etiquette at all times.
  • Excessive drinking of alcoholic beverages will not be allowed.
  • The Tournament Director will be responsible for any damage done to the golf course, golf carts, or property by the group.
  • Rangers will be monitoring pace of play, and the conduct of the group. Players are expected to follow ranger staff direction.
