RE: Mask Protocols for the Town of Groton Facilities Effective 6/7/2021
Date: June 02, 2021
In conjunction with Governor Lamont’s Executive Order 12A, the Town of Groton will be updating its mask wearing policy to include the following:
- While indoors, any visitor to a Town-operated facility who does not maintain a safe social distance of approximately six feet from every other person and who is not fully vaccinated for COVID-19 shall cover his or her mouth and nose with a mask or cloth face covering (a person is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving the final recommended dose of a vaccine approved for use against COVID-19 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration).
- Any visitor to a Town-operated facility who is fully vaccinated may discontinue the use of a mask or cloth face covering.
- Any visitor to a Town-operated facility may continue to wear a mask or cloth face covering at his or her own discretion.
- Universal masking shall be required in certain situations as outlined by the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Conditions and Environments Requiring Universal Masking for the Prevention of COVID-19 on and after May 19, 2021
It is the goal of the Town to continue to provide a safe environment for both employees and all visitors to Town-operated facilities.
